Why are ex-Scientologists so angry?

Question:
In cruising around the Internet, it seems like those who are most against the Church of Scientology are the ex-Scientologists. Why are they so angry?

Answer:
It does seem like some ex-Scientologists are a bit vitriolic when it comes to the Church. They do seem to have a lot of negative things to say about the organization.

Most people today know about the shady parts of the church. But many of these ex-Scientologists got into Scientology before those things were widely known. For them, finding out the truth is much, much worse. They believed. They gave a lot of themselves, sometimes many years of their lives, their potential careers, potential family, their friends. They gave up a lot to help this organization. They truly believed they were “saving the planet.”

Now, to find out that they were fooled, and badly, and that the organization they gave up so much for was, at the top, nothing but a fraud — this is very, very hard to take.

Some ex-Scientologists simply go away and try to make the best of their life now. Others have taken the betrayal much more personally, and they want those at the top of the Church of Scientology who are responsible for this fraud and this betrayal to pay the full consequences for their actions.

Reasonable people cannot fault the ex-Scientologists for being a bit peeved.

It’s Scientologists that tend to be angry, not ex-Scientologists; most ex-Scientologists tend to have a good sense of humor. In fact, L. Ron Hubbard’s own (non-PR) writings instruct that Scientologists be encouraged to hate – and Hubbard uses the words “hate,” and “frenzy of hate,” multiple times. And Hubbard’s other hate-filled writings are becoming well known to the outside world, or as Hubbard called it, the “wog world.”So, it not the ex-Scientologists who have the problem, but Scientologists.

Mr. Hubbard explained it quite well. People leave Scientology – and stay away – only for one reason: THEY HAVE CRIMES. The people who call themselves “Ex-Scientologists” are, simply, criminals. In a thinking society such people would be isolated and confined, but in our meat society, where the wogs still make the laws, that doesn’t happen. However, with the release of the SUPER POWER RUNDOWN at Flag in the near future, planetary Clearing will become a reality, and those “Ex-Scientologists” will not be free to walk the streets suppressing others. The tech works on everyone – eventually – although ETHICS must sometimes be put IN first HARD.

  3. I can understand that people who thought they were helping must really feel betrayed. I’m sure I would feel the same way. It’s hard to sort through their angry writings to find the point sometimes.thanks for the good answer.

    Scientology IS a crime.

This goes for everybody who has escaped a cult; Scientology, Jehovah's Witnesses, Alcoholics Anonymous*, the crazier Fundamentalist Christian churches….escapees are either depressed about all the time they wasted or FURIOUS at how they were treated/scammed/screwed over. Hopefully the rage turns into action, action that destroys the cult.___________________________________________* Yes AA is a cult, just one that wants your time and not your money.
